Trip 1(leader: Al)
Our illustrious leader, Al, descended the climb with ease, while Lard Arse Jim followed with much more difficulty. We did lots of shitty crawling before getting to some pretties. More crawling led us to Gour Hall after 2 1/2 – 3 hours. On our return visit we diverted via Hall of the Mountain King to throw lots of mud at each other. Al fell over in a mud pool which was twice as deep as Al is thick. We descended through a small hole to Cigalere to wash off in a waterfall. Pointless though, as we had to return through Hall of the Mountain King. We returned through Mistral to the surface and were surprised to find that Anthony’s group had not got out yet (see below). James, Mark, Daniel and James returned towards Bull Pot farm, while Al and Jenny returned underground to find Anthony. The Bull Pot Farm crew got lost on the fell, but met some other cavers at Lancaster Hole and made it back.

Trip 2 (Leader: Anthony)
We had a slightly scary descent into the bowels of Hell, putting our lives into the hands of evil Anthony. Crawled through (and got stuck in) loads of tunnels (wide enough for a thin pin to get through and muddy enough for the proverbial pig to have a field trip). Ended up in Gour Hall (so we were told) and stopped to have a (muddy) Mars Bar. Turned back and took a detour via God knows where and got even more stuck and even muddier trying to get back on track. Were finally rescued by Big Al and Heroic Jenny and climbed to safety only to be greeted by rain and an arduous walk (?swim) back.
