Julia: When going in Lower Long Churn (well Diccan actually) don’t take the first right ‘cos its shit and horrible, its the second right which is ok. Al wanted to rig off clouds, until it was pointed out to him that the symbol in the rigging guide actually meant trees. Dolly Tubs had changed lots in 4 terms, the second part of the pitch is scary (big wide rift, plus it’s in semi-daylight) to rig so I didn’t! Hurrah for short-legged, wussey women. Ladder and rope were too short so we had no rope for the greasy slab and had to use someone else’s. Al and Andy had already almost got to the bottom of Alum, so they came back up and went up Dolly Tubs. Me and Anthony got almost to the bottom but couldn’t be arsed to rig the last pitch (well, didn’t actually take the rope down), plus we could only see one p-hanger. Abbing in daylight is horrible and prussiking in daylight is still pretty interesting. Got almost to the top and fucked up the one rebelay in the whole wide world that I really didn’t want to. Ah well. I like it in the dark.
