Present: Pete, JC

While everyone else was faffing, buying beer in Wells and generally not caving, Pete and JC decided to go caving. Swildons was chosen as it was close by and classic Mendip trip. Five minute drive and parked on the green in Priddy, there is a barn to change in too. Access costs £1.50 payable to the house opposite the path to the cave, there’s a letter-box to put it in. A pleasant walk in the sun brought us to the entrance, in a small stone hut. The entrance passage was wet but enjoyable. At the pitch, we met some other cavers coming out who informed us that the dive line through sump 1 was damaged and not safe, so we decided not to go through. JC successfully navigated on the way out. We emerged into bright sunshine after an excellent trip.
