Club Information
Durham University Speleological Association
So, who are we?
DUSA stands for Durham University Speleological Association. Which, if you’re wondering what speleological means, is just a fancy word for caving.
We’re just people who like to go walking, climbing, crawling, and occasionally swimming underground. We run caving trips almost every weekend in term time, and we can often be found underground or in various pubs across Durham.
Looking for more information? Feel free to message us any questions about the club, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Freshers Trips
Welcome to any freshers who have decided to join us!! We hope you’re excited to head underground with DUSA!
We will always provide the actual caving kit for society trips, but there are a few things you should also be aware of before going caving for the first time.
The Exec Committee
DUSA is led by a committee of execs that are elected annually at our AGM in May.
Learn about who is currently on part of the exec, what each role is responsible for on our committee page, and information about any upcoming elections on our committee page.
Club Affiliations
As a club, we are affiliated with the Durham Student Union, the British Caving Association (BCA), and the Council for Higher Education Caving Clubs (CHECC).
