Welfare
Member welfare is an important part of DUSA, so if you have any problems, concerns, or queries about anything relating to trips, socials, or general university life, then feel free to get in touch with our welfare secretaries below and we will contact you to try and help out.
Welfare Underground
When on a DUSA trip, it is important to remember the following:
- You can be open! Speak up if you’re feeling cold, physically tired, or otherwise unhappy. This goes for any DUSA event; the leaders/exec want to make sure you’re having a good time!
- Go at your own pace. Leaders and experienced cavers may be fast, so be sure to get them to slow down if you need them to.
- Listen to and trust the leaders. If you’re told not to do something, it’s probably for the best that you listen. In general, if you’re unhappy underground, talk to your leader and they’ll help you find a solution.
General Welfare
- Make sure to eat breakfast before your trip! Caving is physically taxing, so make sure you’re energised. Eat a substantial breakfast before your trip.
- If any society members are acting inappropriately or making you uncomfortable (in or out of a cave), please tell the trip leader, an exec member, or fill in the form below.
Welfare Reports
If you have a welfare concern at any point, there are many ways of submitting a concern. While we would suggest that you submit a report using our welfare form (there is an option to be anonymous), you can also use one of the other options listed below.
